After a successful Bollywood outing,Suraj Jagan now hopes to get it right with his first album
This has always been my dream, says Suraj Jagan as he talks about his first album Back To My Future,which he launched at a live concert at Hard Rock Cafe yesterday. Jagan,who is one of the pioneers of rock music in India,has always been composing and singing rock numbers at various stage shows and world concerts. The thought of compiling these numbers into an album first came to him in the year 2000 but back then he did not have the right means to set it up. It is only now that it has all fallen into place. I believe everything happens in good time, he says. The album is a compilation of rock songs,with only a couple of acoustic numbers.
The singer-composer first came into the limelight when he did a brief appearance in Rock On!!,and then gained instant fame after his song Give Me Some Sunshine from 3 Idiots became a chartbuster. He was then approached for many Bollywood projects,the most recent one being Jaa Chudail for Delhi Belly. Ask him if the recognition helped him further his career prospects,and he is quick to retort,I always knew what I wanted to do,but now,since people know me,it is easier for me to get them to look at my other work as well.
