Robbery case cracked,4 held

With the arrest of four persons,the South Delhi police on Sunday claimed to have cracked a robbery case in which nearly Rs 40 lakh were stolen from a factory in Ghitorni village,Vasant Kunj.

With the arrest of four persons,the South Delhi police on Sunday claimed to have cracked a robbery case in which nearly Rs 40 lakh were stolen from a factory in Ghitorni village,Vasant Kunj.

The police identified the accused as Amit (24),Rohit (23),Jagdish and the receiver of the stolen property,Mushtaq Ali (34),a resident of Bhavnagar in Gujarat.

On February 25,the trio had held the factory guards at knifepoint and made away with 38 cartons of dispensing valve worth Rs 40 lakh. A case was registered at the Vasant Kunj police station.

Ali was the first one to be arrested from Bhavnagar on March 3. “Following his lead,we recovered looted goods worth Rs 10 lakh,” a senior police officer said. Subsequently,the trio were arrested and stolen property worth Rs 30 lakh was recovered from them.

The involvement of the accused in similar robbery incidents in factories and godowns in the Capital is being probed as,according to the police,they had been operating in the NCR for long.
