Officials of Rapid Metro demolished the ceiling of an under-construction control room on Moulsari Road,DLF Phase-III,on Monday. Officials said the ceiling was pulled down because the alignment of the room was not in accordance with the building norms. The demolition,however,triggered panic in the area with residents claiming that the ceiling collapsed. The room is being constructed on the Moulsari Road,and is not close to any Metro station in the area. We adhere to strict building norms,and we asked the project dealer to bring down the structure. There was no accident, a Rapid Metro spokesperson said. The DLF Phase-III police said they had no prior information of any demolition planned by the Rapid Metro. Station House Officer Jagdish Prasad said he did not have any information on the incident and if there was an accident,police would have got a report.
40-year-old DU professor attempts suicide
New Delhi: An associate professor of Delhi University attempted suicide at her home in North Campus by slashing her right wrist. The 40-year-old woman is a faculty member of the Department of Urdu. She was found in an unconscious state by her domestic help around 11.30 am on Monday,police said. She has been admitted to a hospital and her condition is said to be stable. Investigating officers said a suicide note was recovered and it said she was lonely and wanted to go to another world
