Promotions denied,AIIMS doctors write

Following a large number doctors missing out on promotions in the recently announced list at AIIMS,the faculty association of the institute has decided to formally appeal to Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to review them in his capacity as the President of the institute. After an emergency meeting convened on Friday,president of the faculty association Dr Manoj Singh said,“Doctors will boycott the formal Holi celebrations of the institute.We are also appealing to the Health Minister and the governing body of the institute to immediately review the promotions.” Thirty-nine of 252 doctors who sat for the interviews before an 11-member expert panel have not been promoted,sparking outrage among the faculty.
