President Droupadi Murmu at the event in Red Fort. (X/RASHTRAPATIBHV)PRESIDENT DROUPADI Murmu paid tribute to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur at the red Fort on Tuesday, marking the final day of a three-day congregation held to commemorate the 350th martyrdom day of the Sikh Guru.
The President bowed before Guru Granth Sahib and offered her respects to the Sikh holy book. CM rekha Gupta, who was present at the ceremony, said the Delhi government will run year-long programmes across the city to spread Guru Tegh Bahadur’s teachings. She announced that a dedicated ‘Guru Tegh Bahadur Forest’ will be developed through large-scale sapling plantations.
The CM added that special books for children and several welfare schemes in the Guru’s name will also be launched during the year-long commemoration.
