Police officer suspended over involvement in ‘honey-trapping’ racket
The ASI was transferred from Farrukh Nagar station over her alleged role in helping the woman file a rape case, police said.

A police officer in Gurgaon was suspended after her alleged involvement in a “honey-trapping racket” surfaced during a probe by a Special Investigation Team, police said Saturday.
ASI Munish Devi, who was transferred to police lines after the complainant alleged the ASI’s involvement on June 10, was suspended on Thursday with an order from the DCP Headquarters, police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
The five-member SIT headed by ACP Pataudi Harinder Kumar had submitted a report regarding her involvement.
Earlier this month, following a complaint by a Delhi resident wherein he alleged that a woman and her associate were extorting money by levelling allegations of rape against him after the woman met him on a dating app, the accused duo were arrested. The complainant had also mentioned ASI Devi in the complaint filed at Farrukh Nagar, stating that she had allegedly called him and said she will “settle the case outside otherwise it will take seven years to prove innocence”.
The ASI was transferred from Farrukh Nagar station over her alleged role in helping the woman file a rape case, police said.
The accused woman would allegedly take men she met on dating apps to hotels and give them alcohol, police had said, adding that the accused duo later threatened the men and extorted them.
