The way the residents of national capital region travel will change by the time Delhi Metro completes its Phase-III,the deadline for which is 2016. Under the next phase,the Metro tracks are expected to reach two more points in Noida and also connect Greater Noida. A high-speed link has been planned between IGI Airport and Gurgaon and a line will also connect to Arthala in Ghaziabad. Shiv Vihar,Najafgarh and Bahadurgarh will also find a place on the Metro map with a link planned for each. Delhi Metro is preparing detailed project reports (DPRs) for two corridors in Noida while one is from Kalindi Kunj to Botanical Garden,the other is an extension of the existing Dwarka Sector-21 to Noida City Centre corridor that will be increased to reach Sector-62. The DPR for the elevated connection between Noida City Centre and Delta Chowk in Greater Noida is still awaiting approval from the UP government. Metro officials said officials of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) and UP government are trying to decide on the alignment and funding pattern of the proposed corridor from Dilshad Garden to Arthala. The first DPR for this corridor was submitted in 2005,and a revised one was submitted in 2010. Metro authorities have also proposed an extension of the high-speed Airport Metro Express up till IFFCO Chowk. Three other corridors Mundka to Bahadurgarh,Yamuna Vihar to Shiv Vihar and Dwarka to Najafgarh is expected to provide connectivity to some of the untouched suburbs of the Capital. Meanwhile,the DPR for Mundka to Bahadurgarh link has already been submitted to the MoUD and the Haryana government. The DPR for Dwarka to Najafgarh is also with the MoUD. As for the 3-km-long Yamuna Vihar to Shiv Vihar corridor,the stations are being finalised.
