Over a thousand grievances resolved in Jan Sunwai camps in Delhi, many on the spot: Govt
The primary concerns raised by the public at the camps include water supply, sanitation, encroachment, park maintenance, street lighting, road maintenance, and law and order, among others.

With an aim to resolve civic grievances on the spot, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has initiated a public outreach campaign through weekly Jan Sunwai (public hearing) camps across the Capital, the Delhi government underlined on Sunday. So far, over a thousand grievances have been registered in the camps held across all districts of Delhi, according to an official statement. “Of these, many were resolved on the spot, while the rest have been forwarded to the relevant departments for further necessary action,” the Delhi government stated.
The camps are organised every Saturday across all revenue districts of the Capital with Cabinet ministers, MLAs, and municipal councilors also in attendance, along with the officials of the Delhi Police and discoms. “To maintain a direct connection with the public, these programmes are being held not just at revenue office premises but also at schools, community centers, and public halls like chaupals and barat ghars,” the government said, adding that the participation at these camps has seen an increase.
The primary concerns raised by the public at the camps include water supply, sanitation, encroachment, park maintenance, street lighting, road maintenance, and law and order, among others.
The CM has directed all district officials to review the complaints promptly and submit timely action taken reports.
She has warned of strict action against departments failing to resolve pending grievances. “This is not just a grievance redressal program; it is our commitment to listen to the people and find solutions. We will ensure every complaint is addressed in a time-bound and responsible manner,” Gupta has been quoted as saying in the statement.
She had earlier given orders to government departments to upgrade their public grievance portals to make them more user-friendly.
