Raat Gayi Baat Gayi shows what happens after a party gets wild
The cast of Raat Gayi Baat Gayi is an excited lot. Theyre making every effort to ensure that the right kind of audience reaches the cinemas to watch the comedy that theyve worked so hard on. The film releases on New Years Eve.
The storyline revolves around three couples who get drunk at a party. They wake up with no memories of the nights happenings and are filled in with various shocking stories. It is a hangover of The Hangover? Ive said this a million times and Im saying it again, the film is not a copy of The Hangover, says director Saurabh Shukla. He adds that RGBG had been planned long before he had heard of The Hangover but it kept getting stalled. It is ready now and were sure the audiences will come out laughing.
The film,he says, has a lot of crazy humour,a mystery and throughout there is talk of the possibility of a one-night stand.
Since the film is about everyone losing their consciousness after excessive alcohol,we ask the director and his cast Neha Dhupia and Vinay Pathak about the craziest thing theyve done after being intoxicated in real life. I dont drink that much, giggles Dhupia immediately. Okay fine,so there was this one time when I was partying in Singapore . We entered one place at 8 pm with the plan of having a couple of drinks and food and retiring early. But we ended up having so much fun that we went kept club-hopping and I found myself back at my hotel only at lunchtime the next day.
Pathak,on the other hand,is currently a teetotaler but he remembers his college days in New York when he would empty six cans of beer in a funnel and gulp them in under a minute. The kind of insane things we did after that should never be printed, he laughs.
