Not given clean chit to anyone; won’t resign from Rajya Sabha: Maliwal
Maliwal was nominated as an MP by the AAP in January.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, who is in the eye of the storm after she alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar assaulted her at the former’s home on May 13, said on Thursday that she has not given a clean chit to anyone and that she will not resign from the Parliament membership.
Maliwal was nominated as an MP by the AAP in January.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Maliwal said: “I went to meet Arvind Kejriwal ji around 9 am on May 13. I was told to wait by a staff member. Another staff member came and told me that the CM would meet me in some time. Then, Bibhav Kumar came storming in and when I asked him what happened, he slapped me 7-8 times…”
Asked if she thinks the assault was at someone’s instruction, she said: “Bibhav hit me alone. Whether it was at someone’s instruction is a matter of investigation now… I am cooperating with Delhi Police… But yes, I am not giving a clean chit to anyone… The fact is that I was in the drawing room, Arvind Kejriwal was at home, and I was beaten up badly. I was screaming for help but no one came.”
When asked if she was asked to give up her Rajya Sabha seat, Maliwal told the news agency: “If they needed my Rajya Sabha seat, they could have asked for it nicely, I would have given my life, the seat is a very small thing… But the way they have beaten me, now I will not resign… I am the youngest woman Parliamentarian right now and I will work very hard.”
