Noida international airport moves one step ahead, to start 2nd stage of ops from November 15

The Noida International Airport based at Jewar in western Uttar Pradesh has begun preparations for the second stage of trial operations that is set to begin on November 15.
In the second stage, flights of Akasa, Indigo and most probably Air India will take off and land daily till December 15, said Arun Veer Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Noida International Airport Limited,.
The process of testing will continue for one month. “This data will be uploaded on December 20 to the DGCA website and then we will apply for the aerodrome licensing,” Singh said.

The airport authorities expect to get the licence by March 20 and operations are expected to start in full swing on April 17, 2025 with 30 flights on the first day, a top official said on Saturday. He added that this will include three international flights – for Zurich, Singapore and Dubai – and two cargo flights.
“Initially, we have planned for the operation of 30 flights, of which 25 are domestic flights, three international and two cargo flights,” Singh said.
“The Director General of Civil Aviation has approved our flight calibrations after going through several reports relating to the runway, wind speed and with that we have completed the first stage of the airport operations,” he added.
He added that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa airlines. “A few more airlines will be roped in and we are working on it. As far as domestic flights are concerned, Noida will be linked to Lucknow, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Dehradun and several other cities. However, we have not yet finalised the list of domestic cities and it may change later. We will soon finalise the framework,” said the CEO.

“During the trials, the runway will see several flights of Indigo Airlines, Akasa Airlines (both small and big) and also flights owned by Airport Authority of India (AAI) as well. An agreement is also being worked out with Air India,” he added.
