The body has been handed over to the family members after the post-mortem.
A nine-year-old girl was killed after she allegedly came in contact with a live electric wire on Monday in a village in Noida’s Sector 74, the police said.
According to the Noida police, the deceased identified as Priyanshi lived with her family in a hut in the field in Sarfabad village where her father, Hari Om, works as the caretaker.
“Around 11 pm, Priyanshi couldn’t sleep and had stepped out to play with her ball. While playing, she ran after the ball as it rolled towards the backyard of the field where she came in contact with the live wire,” Teji Sharma, Station House Officer, Sector 113, said.
Sharma said that the girl was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by the family members where she was declared brought dead on arrival.
The body has been handed over to the family members after the post-mortem.
The family has not filed any First Information Report (FIR), Sharma said.
