Police commissioner of Faridabad,PK Aggarwal,said no other name has come up in the course of the investigation. Goyal will be in police custody till Thursday,Aggarwal added.

The boy,Gulshan Jain,the son of East Delhi businessman Mahender Jain,had gone missing on Sunday evening and was found dead in the early hours of Monday in Faridabad. The accused Goyal is Mahender’s uncle.

The police added that the accused,who has confessed to committing the crime,told them he had incurred losses of Rs 20 lakh in his garment business and had hatched the abduction plot for some easy money.

The incident came to light when a team of Faridabad police officers were patrolling near the NHPC Chowk. The PCR found a Mitsubishi Lancer,driven by Pradeep Goyal,parked on the side of the road around 1 am on Monday. Upon investigation,they discovered the boy’s body in the car.

The accused was planning to call up the family for ransom but was caught by the police before that. The postmortem report confirmed death due to strangulation.
