After last weeks disappointing 25-minute performance by American rapper,Pitbull, and the tough-to forget Metallica fiasco in November,we earnestly hoped for an international artiste to save the night for Delhis party revelers. What better than Grammy-nominee,Bob Sinclar, the popular French DJ,who was expected to rock the party scene in the Capital on Wednesday,or so we assumed. The 42-year-old credited with hit remixes such as World,Hold On,Love Generation and Rock this Party played a two-hour-long disappointing set at Kitty Su,The Lalit, and left the audience asking for more.
Fashionably late by two hours,Sinclars entry behind the console post 1 am,was met with hoots, applause and loud screams by women for the French sweetheart. But Sinclar failed to live up to the expectations of his fans. The gig began slow, ended slow and had its major share of lows than highs. After a few minutes of monotonous House music,Sinclar threw in House remixes of hit numbers such as Coldplays Fix You,Adeles Rolling in the deep and Diddy-Dirty Moneys Im Coming Home. Unable to judge the Indian House music fan,who loves a high tempo and fast beat,Sinclars set was all about hit and trial. Its not as if the party was an utter flop because you could spot a number of people dancing on the floor, seats and table tops. But the expectations from Sinclar were higher.
