Nepalese national stabbed,one held

A 35-year-old Nepalese national,identified as Doma,was stabbed allegedly by two men inside Monastery cloth market in North Delhi area near ISBT on Wednesday. One of the accused has been arrested,the police said.

“One of the accused,Daljeet,has been arrested while his friend,Sunny,is still absconding,” a senior police officer said.

According to police sources,the incident occurred around 10.15 pm on Wednesday when two men — both in early twenties — went to the eating joint run by the victim.

“Both of them were inebriated and after eating they allegedly started arguing with the victim. One of the accused then stabbed Doma on the thigh with a knife,” the officer said.

“Doma’s brother,who was also present there,chased the accused and managed to catch Daljeet.” He later handed Daljeet to the police.

A case under Section 324 was registered at the Civil Lines police station and further investigations are on.
