Month after he filed FIR over missing daughter, Gurgaon man held for murder
Police arrested the complainant along with the girl's brother and uncle. “We arrested them to interrogate and collect evidence...They are in remand now,” said DCP (South) Sidhant Jain.

A month after he filed an FIR alleging that his daughter had gone missing, police arrested a man, along with two others, on charges of murder in Gurgaon Thursday.
According to police, Balbir, a resident of Sohna’s Khedla, had alleged that his daughter Mansi, 18, went missing on January 31. He said she had eloped with a man in Raisina village. In the complaint, he said, “On January 31, 2024, like every day, she left home around 8.20 am (for coaching) and did not return home… I have not been able to locate her. I suspect that my daughter Mansi…has gone with Rahul Lala,” he said.
Police arrested the complainant along with the girl’s brother and uncle. “We arrested them to interrogate and collect evidence…They are in remand now,” said DCP (South) Sidhant Jain.
He said that the body of the woman has not been found yet. “The man that her father said she eloped with is at his house…we have not been able to find her remains yet. We will be able to conclude if it was…honour killing when the DNA matches. Mortal remains must be matched via DNA profiling with parents of the girl and only then we can conclusively say what had happened,” he added. The three were arrested for murder and two more sections, 302 and 34, have been added to the FIR, police said.
