Meetings held, wards get in-charges: Delhi BJP gears up for MCD bypolls

The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun organisational preparations for the upcoming Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) byelections for 12 wards, scheduled for November 30.

Following instructions issued by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, district presidents held meetings with the office-bearers of the respective mandals and senior workers connected with the wards, on Wednesday.

In these meetings, the minister in charge of the wards and the election coordinators discussed the upcoming elections with office-bearers and senior workers.

Sachdeva also appointed election coordinators for all 12 wards and nominated Delhi government ministers as the in-charges of each ward, said the party.

Environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa will be in charge of Mundka and Ashok Vihar. Tourism minister Kapil Mishra will be in charge of Shalimar Bagh and Vinod Nagar, while Social Welfare Minister Ravindra Indraj will monitor Chandini Chowk and Chandni Mahal.

Transport Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh has been given charges of Dwarka (B) and Dichaon Kalan wards. While Education Minister Ashish Sood is in charge of Naraina and GK wards, PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh is in charge of Sangam Vihar and Dakshinpuri wards.
