Man shot dead in clash between two groups

One person was shot dead and three others were injured after a clash between the members of two communities.

One person was shot dead and three others were injured after a clash between the members of two communities.

The incident was reported from Ghori Baccheda village in Greater Noida’s Dadri area on Thursday night,said police.

According to police,Bali Ahmed (40) was shot dead in the fracas,while two others were injured after being hit by shrapnel. A third was assaulted.

“Some men reportedly harassed a girl here and attacked a man named Pawan Kumar,who was with her, when he tried to intervene. Kumar,who sustained minor injuries,returned with his family members,” said a police officer.

“A brawl ensued and residents of the village too joined the fight. Shots were fired and Ahmed was killed. Two men suffered injuries caused by shrapnel,while another was beaten up badly. A case has been registered and investigations are underway,” he said.

As the situation is tense,police said extra security has been deployed in the area.

“By the time we were called to the spot,the shots had already been fired. An armed constabulary battalion has been deployed to maintain peace in the village. A DSP-level officer has been deputed there to ensure that trouble doesn’t flare up again at night. Arrests in the case are imminent,” the officer said.
