A 27-year-old man was shot at in East Delhis Shakarpur area on Monday morning. The victim,Ram Khilawan,claimed that he was shot at by the relatives of his girlfriend,who opposed their relationship.
Khilawan told the police that couple of years ago he and the girl,who lives in Laxmi Nagar,became friends.
According to Khilawan,the girls father found out about the relationship and took her back to her hometown Amroha in Uttar Pradesh. The two,however,continued to be in touch, a senior police officer said. Khilawan said the girls father,V N Sharma and brother,Vaibhav Sharma,returned to the Capital on Sunday and called Khilawan to meet them under Ganesh Nagar flyover on Monday morning.
The victim further told the police that he met the girls father and brother at 6 am on Monday and invited them to his rented accommodation. On the way,Khilawan and Vaibhav entered into an argument and the latter shot at Khilawan with a country made pistol. The bullet hit Khilawan in the arm and the assailants fled. Later,a bystander called the PCR who rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. He is said to be in a stable condition. The police have registered a case against the two accused.
