Man killed in brawl over Rs 180

A 35-year-old man was beaten to death by a group of youths over the payment of a bill of Rs 180.

A 35-year-old man was beaten to death by a group of youths over the payment of a bill of Rs 180. The incident was reported from South Delhi’s Kotla Mubarakpur area on Tuesday night.

Deepak Singh, who worked as a supervisor with a private firm, had eaten at a roadside food stall near INA Market, police said.

At the time of the incident,Singh was with two of his relatives. Prima facie,it seems that Singh and one of his relatives left without paying. The other relative, who was given the bill later, allegedly refused to pay as well.

“The family has alleged that employees of the eatery thrashed Singh’s relative and brought him to the house. When Deepak tried to intervene,he was hit by a hammer and pushed off the fourth floor,” a police officer said .

Family members alleged that Singh landed on a car. He was rushed to the AIIMS Trauma Centre, where he was declared brought dead.

Police said,“We have registered a case of murder. The place where Singh fell is a bit too far away from where he was pushed off. We are awaiting the post-mortem report.”
