Man held for raping minor

A 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area. Police said the accused,identified as Vijay Kumar,was known to the girl’s family.

According to a senior police officer,“On Friday evening,the accused,on the pretext of taking the victim to a shop,took her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her”.

The matter came to light when the victim told her family about the incident. “We have registered a case and arrested the accused after a medical examination confirmed rape,” said the officer.
