Man gets life for killing daughter

A Rohini sessions court has sentenced an autorickshaw driver to life imprisonment for stabbing his 12-year-old daughter to death with a pair of scissors. The convict,Paramjeet Singh,had also attacked his other two children — both aged 11 — and his wife.

The prosecution based the case on the testimony of the convict’s wife,Balwinder Kaur. She said that her husband had sold his vehicle three to four months before the incident because he was addicted to drinking and gambling. Following this,he allegedly started harassing his wife,asking her to get money from her parents for purchasing a truck.

On the night of the incident,she woke up to hear her daughter Jaspreet screaming. She was being attacked with scissors by Singh,Balwinder said.
