Man arrested for raping 14-year-old daughter in Ghaziabad
The 28-week-pregnant minor told police that her father sexually abused her for over two years

A 44-year-old man was arrested in Ghaziabad on Friday for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter. In the police complaint initially filed by her wife, where she alleged that her daughter was raped, the accused was identified as “Golu”.
Investigating officials, however, later found out that the father of the girl had been allegedly sexually abusing her for over two years.
Ravi Kumar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Nandgram, said that initially, the girl was not willing to speak despite repeated attempts. “Later, we asked our female sub-inspectors to counsel her. She revealed that her father had been sexually abusing her for the last two years, after which we arrested the father,” Singh said.
“The girl was taken to a hospital after she complained of a stomachache. During an ultrasound, she was found to be seven months pregnant,” said the Nandgram ACP.
“My 14-year-old daughter had been complaining of stomachache, dizziness, and fever for the last five to six months,” said the girl’s mother. “I would get her medicine from a local medical store but to no avail. On June 10, I took her to a hospital in Ghaziabad. The doctor prescribed her some medicine,” she said.
The girl’s mother said that after she saw no improvement in her daughter’s health, on July 6, she again took her to the hospital. “This time, the doctor asked for a full body check-up and prescribed her some medicine. Still, there was no improvement. On July 24, the doctor prescribed an ultrasound test,” the girl’s mother said.
Police officer Ravendra Gautam said that the father has accepted sexually assaulting his daughter. “We will be filing the chargesheet soon,” he said. “The doctor will decide on her pregnancy soon as the girl is 28 weeks pregnant,” said the ACP.
