Delhi man arrested for raping 72-year-old mother twice to punish her over suspected affair
The police said the woman then narrated the incident to her daughter, who convinced her to file a police complaint, and she filed the complaint on Saturday.

A 39-year-old man who allegedly raped his 72-year-old mother twice was arrested on Saturday, said police, adding that he wanted her to punish her because he suspected that she had an affair when he was a child.
“The accused is a graduate who is currently unemployed, and the investigation is ongoing,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan.
According to the police, the woman lives with her husband, her son and daughter in Central Delhi.
The woman told the police that she recently went for a pilgrimage with her husband and daughter to Saudi Arabia. The accused then called up his father and allegedly told him that he should give divorce to her as she does not have a “good character”, an officer said.
“On August 1, when they returned to Delhi, her son assaulted her and tried to assault her again after which she went to her elder daughter’s house,” the officer said.
“On August 11, the woman returned to her house. Her son then told the family members that he wanted to have a word with his mother in private as it was a personal matter. He then allegedly took her inside a room and raped her at knifepoint,” the officer said based on her complaint.
“She was terrified and, out of shame, did not tell anyone,” the officer added. Three days later, he allegedly raped her again.
The police said the woman then narrated the incident to her daughter, who convinced her to file a police complaint, and she filed the complaint on Saturday.
