Man accused of rape held for ‘murder’ of survivor’s husband
The police said the 34-year-old accused was allegedly in a relationship with the woman, a neighbour.

A man has been arrested from Gurgaon for allegedly killing the husband of the woman who had accused him of rape. While the man was arrested on Friday, two of his accomplices, who allegedly helped him dump the body, were arrested on Saturday.
The police said the 34-year-old accused was allegedly in a relationship with the woman, a neighbour. The woman, on July 28, had filed a missing person complaint, alleging that she had last seen her husband on July 26.
The police said that on July 31, she filed another complaint, alleging that her 34-year-old neighbour had raped her in March, recorded a video, and threatened to make it viral. She alleged that she suspected that he was behind her husband’s disappearance.
Following this, a case was registered under sections 333 (house trespass with preparation of causing hurt, assault, or wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 64 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the neighbour.
Following preliminary investigation, he was arrested on August 1. “He admitted to strangling the victim with a rope on July 26, with three accomplices, after abducting him from his workplace.
They later buried the body near a residential society,” said an officer.
