Live shell found near Ashoka Hotel

An empty bullet shell,allegedly belonging to a businessman’s son,was found from outside a five-star hotel in Chanakyapuri area on Thursday.

The incident was reported nearly 12 hours after the shell was recovered by the private security guard of Ashoka Hotel,said a police officer. “The security guard reported the matter to the hotel authorities and told them that he saw a man firing in the air outside the entrance. When he went to the spot,he found a live shell,” said the officer.

He added: “CCTV footage was scrutinised by the hotel authorities who informed the police.” A case under the Arms Act has been registered at the Chanakyapuri police station.
