The war of words between Lt-Governor VK Saxena and the Delhi government continued Tuesday over the pollution levels in the Yamuna.

Saxena, sharing photos of the froth on the surface of the river, posted on X, “Who is responsible? The truth has a very bad habit; it cannot be suppressed… Instead of making accusations, allegations, and excuses on media or social platforms, it would be better to provide relief to the people of Delhi, especially Chhath worshippers and fasting people, from this worsening situation. I expect concrete steps for redressal.”

Saxena’s comments came after his post on Monday where he had expressed concern about the pollution levels.

Hitting back, AAP had, in a statement, claimed that the L-G has used old photos in his post. On Tuesday, AAP blamed industrial waste dumping from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh for pollution. “Delhi has no major industries, so where is this waste coming from? The BJP creates hurdles in the functioning of the elected government of Delhi. We will continue to fight and provide better services to our citizens,” the party stated.
