Candidates aspiring to study engineering at Delhi University need to have scored at least 60% or above in an aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathe-matics; must have passed English as a subject of study; and cleared their Class 12 from a single recognised board, according to the eligibility criteria announced by Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh Wednesday. The admission of candidates will be based on the ranks obtained in JEE Mains.
Recently, DU announced the introduction of three Bachelor of Technology (BTech) programmes — Computer Science, Electronics and Communication and Electrical Engineering — the syllabus for which has been approved by the Executive Council.
Keeping in mind Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR), DU will offer a financial support scheme for economically weaker students (EWS) as part of which candidates whose parental income is Rs 4 lakh or less will receive a 90% waiver of fees at the time of admission and those with parental income between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 8 lakh will receive a 50% waiver in fees, the V-C said.

As much as 5% of the total sanctioned strength of the colleges shall be allocated for extra-curricular activities (ECA) and sports supernumerary quota.
The colleges can allocate between 1% and 4% to ECA and sports, subject to a maximum of 5% intake of the college, officials said. DU has 26 games under its sports supernumerary quota and 14 categories under the ECA supernumerary quota.
