Expressing concern over the callous disregard in releasing pension to defence personnel and their dependents,the Delhi High Court asked the Centre to frame guidelines within three months for timely release of pension benefits. The court passed the order on a petition filed by Zubeda Begum (90),mother of a deceased Army officer. It also imposed a cost of Rs 15,000 on the Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (Pension).
