GURGAON: Three unidentified persons fled with an ATM they uprooted with the help of a gas cutter in the early hours of Saturday. The incident took place at Sector 4-5 crossing inside the branch of ING Vysya bank. Police officials said robbers beat up the security guard and locked him inside a cupboard. “We have registered a case. They abandoned the ATM near Mewat. We are sending a team there to verify the facts,” a senior police officer said.

Judge’s brother shot at,looted
New delhi: The brother of a Delhi High Court judge was shot at by unidentified carjackers in Southwest Delhi on Saturday. Ramesh Bareja,62,brother of Justice Rekha Sharma,was waylaid in Sector-14,Dwarka,around 1.30 pm,sources said. The robbers opened fire at Bareja and pulled him out of the vehicle. Bareja sustained bullet injuries on his thighs and underwent surgery at AIIMS Trauma Centre,the police said.

Spurious liquor: Four more die in Ghaziabad
Ghaziabad: Four more people died on Saturday after consuming spurious liquor at a Holi function at a village in Garh Mukteshwar tehsil on Friday. With this the death toll in the incident has gone up to six,officials said. A senior police officer said the six persons killed in the incident were identified as Ajay 35,Jitender 32,Mahendra 40,Suraj 35,Jai Veer,34 and Mahender 34. Sources said excise inspector S P Singh and constable Rajendra have been suspended for dereliction of duty.

Low-floor bus catches fire
New delhi: A low-floor bus caught fire on Saturday evening but no one was injured,the police said. The incident took place near Badarpur depot around 8.50 pm; no one was in the bus when the fire broke out near the bus’s backdoor. Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot which doused the fire in 15 minutes.

Property dealer found dead,1 held
Ghaziabad: A Ghaziabad-based property dealer,who had gone missing around a week ago,was found dead in Muradnagar village on Saturday. According to Ghaziabad SSP Raghuvir Lal,the victim,Prashant Sharma,35,was killed by one Satender Pal alias Guddu,a resident of Aligarh. Lal said Guddu has been arrested and the police are looking for his two accomplices. The police said Sharma had gone missing on February 20 and a case was registered on February 25. “Two of Sharma’s friends,Anil and Uma Shankar,killed him after consuming liquor with him,” Lal claimed.

Robbers arrested in South Delhi
NEW DELHI: Two alleged robbers,including a proclaimed offender,were arrested from Sangam Vihar in South Delhi on Friday. The police said Pappan Kasana (30) and Sanjay Kalia (27) were arrested following probe into a complaint by one Ranvir Singh who said a few persons robbed him. The two were arrested within two hours of the incident,the police said. Two others managed to escape. Kasana is allegedly involved in seven cases of robberies within the NCR.

Girl hit by water tanker,dies
NEW DELHI: A six-year-old girl was killed after she was hit by a Delhi Jal Board water tanker in Central Delhi on Saturday. The incident took place in Anand Parbat area around 9.45 am when the victim,identified as Shalu,was crossing the road with her neighbour. She died on the spot,the police said. The driver has been arrested.
