Haryana Assembly speaker Kuldeep Sharma on Wednesday said the government will spend Rs 90,000 crore on proposed works during the 12th Five Year Plan. He was addressing the gathering after unfurling the national flag in Gurgaon.

Sharma said the amount was 157 per cent more than the Rs 35,000 crore spent during the 11th Five Year Plan. He said the government had implemented Right to Education Act in the state. In government schools of Haryana,free education was imparted to the students till Class VIII.

He said the government would open 80 veterinary hospitals and also set up a ‘Gau Seva Commission’ for welfare of cows in the state.

Referring to healthcare facilities in the state,Sharma said Urban Health Centre was being set up for every one lakh population.

Sharma also said the government has enhanced its power production capacity by 2803 MW during the last seven years.
