Govt releases pending salaries of DTC marshals

The civil defence volunteers deployed as marshals had visited the secretariat Wednesday to demand their pending dues, after which Rai directed officials to pay their outstanding salaries.

The pending salaries of marshals who guard passengers on Delhi Transport Corporation buses have been released following instructions from Transport Minister Gopal Rai, said government sources Friday. The civil defence volunteers deployed as marshals had visited the secretariat Wednesday to demand their pending dues, after which Rai directed officials to pay their outstanding salaries. The minister also asked officials to maintain a record of the bank account numbers of the volunteers who work as bus marshals.
