On Women’s Day,legendary cricketer and commentator Geoffrey Boycott made an appearance at the launch of Giannti Jewels’ new store in South Extension,Part-1 and within minutes,everybody was wondering why he was there. “Jewellery is for women,not men,” he mumbled as he held up a pair of earrings for the cameras. It was also clear that Boycott couldn’t differentiate a pendant from an earring,or a gemstone from a piece of glass.

And then he insisted on visiting a section of the store that had nothing to do with Giannti jewels. When this was conveyed to him,Boycott bit his tongue and whispered with a wink,“The PR people will kill me if I go there.” While checking out the jewelry,he began talking about how Shilpa Shetty was a wonderful person and how he finds Priyanka Chopra terrific,though he hasn’t watched any of her movies. He has met Shetty,his longtime crush,and is looking to meet Chopra when he visits Mumbai,he added. So,who was he shopping for?
