Four men were sitting near the wall while two children were walking past when it collapsed.

Four people died and two were injured after a wall of a crematorium in Gurgaon collapsed on them Saturday, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Tanya, resident of Veer Nagar, aged 11; Devi Dayal alias Pappu, aged 70; Manoj Gaba, aged 54; and Krishna Kumar, aged 52, all residents of Arjun Nagar. One of the injured is a shop owner named Dileep Kumar; the second person, a child, is yet to be identified.
According to police, the incident took place around 6.30 pm near Arjun Nagar police post.
The victims were sitting on chairs near Dileep’s shop, which was near the spot, and the two children were walking past when the wall collapsed.
CCTV footage shows a stack of logs falling onto the wall which suddenly collapsed on them.
An officer said a team from the Arjun Nagar police post rushed to the spot and with the help of locals, all six were pulled out from the rubble in 10 minutes and taken to a hospital. However, search operations continued for an hour to ensure no one was trapped. Police said an earthmover was also brought to the spot.
“At the hospital, four were declared dead while two are undergoing treatment,” an officer at New Colony police station said.
Police said the wall was made of concrete. “Poor construction led to the incident and an FIR will be registered against the management of the shamshan ghat soon,” the officer added.
