To check illegal use of underground water by builders in Gurgaon,and take immediate action against them,the Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the Haryana government to constitute a committee of officers,who will visit the construction sites in Gurgaon.

To check illegal use of underground water by builders in Gurgaon,and take immediate action against them,the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday directed the Haryana government to constitute a committee of officers,who will visit the construction sites in Gurgaon.

The direction that no new license for construction by a builder will be allowed without an undertaking that underground water will not be used for construction will prevail till further orders,the Court stated. Also,the Court directed secretaries of Public Health Department,Town and Country Planning and Haryana Urban Development Authority to file a joint affidavit furnishing details of water connections issued till now and how they planned to tackle water woes in Gurgaon.
