EV push: Delhi CM to inaugurate over a 100 new charging points in city
Officials said that with the increase in the number of e-charging stations, people will opt for EVs more than fuel-run vehicles.

To encourage citizens to make a switch towards Electric Vehicles (EVs), Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will inaugurate 140 new public charging points and 48 battery swapping facilities in 53 locations across the city Tuesday, said officials.
Officials said the cost of charging at all these points will be Rs 3 per unit. Overall, in these 53 locations, there will be 118 slow charging points (3.3kw/7.5kw) and 32 moderate charging points with a capacity of 15 to 22kw. Besides, they will have 23 fast charging points, with a capacity of over 22kw, and 62 battery swapping facilities.
Officials said that with the increase in the number of e-charging stations, people will opt for EVs more than fuel-run vehicles.
“With this, driving EVs will be cheaper as compared to fuel in Delhi. The cost for charging a two-wheeler would be 7 paise per km while for three-wheelers, it will be 8 paise per km. For four-wheelers, the cost will be 33 paise/km,” said an official.
