Environment Dept awards 10 construction agencies with ‘Harit Ratna’
Under the government's 21 focus-point Winter Action Plan, agencies that follow clean construction practices and adhere to 14 key rules are to be recognized with the award.

Gopal RaiDelhi Environment Minister, Gopal Rai gave away ‘Harit Ratna’ awards to representatives of ten construction agencies in the capital, Wednesday.
Under the government’s 21 focus-point Winter Action Plan, agencies that follow clean construction practices and adhere to 14 key rules are to be recognized with the award.
Among the agencies awarded included Delhi International Airport Limited; ITD Cementation Limited; DLF Home Developers Limited; Northern India Paint colour, Varnish Co LLP; Nehru Place Hotels, Real Estate Private Limited; Angelica Developers Limited; Echo Buildtech Limited and Unity Buildwell Limited.
Rai also announced that representatives from construction companies were trained Wednesday at the Delhi Secretariat as part of the month-long anti-dust campaign launched Monday.
Rai said, “Representatives from construction companies involved in 120 private and government projects… We provided them with kits containing the 14-point guidelines and a pamphlet explaining what actions to take and avoid to help control construction pollution, which was further explained in detail by our experts… they were given the task of training people at… construction sites so that the ground workers and in-charges can also implement this.”
A total of 523 teams from 13 different departments have been deployed to inspect construction sites across the city and monitor conditions on the ground, the Environment Department said.
