“The 2015 Assembly elections are likely to be keenly contested. We are expecting an intensive and aggressive campaign by most parties. Hence, it is necessary to check that the code of conduct guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India are followed right from beginning. While we have deployed sufficient flying and static squads on the ground, this newly-launched facility will help each citizen become our eyes and ears, thereby increasing our efficacy several folds,” district magistrate and district election officer (Southwest) Ankur Garg said.

BJP demands strict action against Kejriwal for poll code violations

In a complaint to the Election Commission (EC), the Delhi BJP has demanded “stern action” against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for violating the model code of conduct “again and again”.

The complaint by Delhi BJP Pradesh office in-charge Mahender Gupta reads, “Kejriwal has been violating the code of conduct again and again, either by alleging that other parties are trying to incite communal violence or by asking people to take money from political parties and vote for the AAP. The EC should take stern action against him”. BJP media in-charge Praveen Shankar Kapoor in a press statement said, “If Kejriwal does not apologise to the people, we shall take him to court.” The statement came after Kejriwal, on Monday, asked residents of Jungpura constituency to “accept bribes from the BJP and the Congress”. This comes even as the EC has issued three notices against Kejriwal.
