Investigators probing the murder case of Delhi University student Aarzoo Singh have traced a labour hand, who allegedly helped the accused dump the body of the girl in a ventilation shaft of his house. The involvement came after the accused was questioned, police said. Naveen Khatri, who is accused of strangling his 23-year-old girlfriend, has denied all allegations.
Police are likely to check the medical reports of Khatri and are planning to have him questioned by a psychologist.
Police said Khatri was produced before a Delhi court Wednesday, following which his police remand was extended by two days. “Hours after police got his police remand, investigators traced the labourer who is suspected to have helped Khatri dump Arzoo’s body. He claimed he never met Khatri. Khatri was again questioned when he said he did not take any help from the labourer,” sources said.
“Khatri’s wife Neha, has emerged as an independent witness after which we questioned dozens of relatives,” a police official said.
