Delhi University professor G N Saibaba, who is out on bail in a case of alleged Maoist links, has been asked by Ram Lal Anand College not to enter the college without permission as it creates “law and order” problems. He has been warned that violation of this order will be considered ‘misconduct’ and be liable for action.
In a letter to Prof Saibaba, Vijay Sharma, principal of the college, termed his recent visits to the college “unauthorised and unwarranted conduct”.
“It has come to our knowledge that you have entered the classrooms… and held interactive session(s) with the students… The Governing Body has taken serious note of your unauthorised conduct of entering the classes during suspension without any written permission,” says the letter.

Prof Saibaba told The Indian Express, “I am extremely pained by this letter. I have taught in the college for the last 15 years… I am a wheelchair bound person who can’t even lift anything by himself. How can I create a law and order problem?”
The English professor added, “I went to the college after a gap of two years, some teachers and students met me in the corridor… Somebody took a photo and put it on Facebook. How can I take a class when I am suspended…”
Prof Saibaba visits to the college last week were met with protests from members of ABVP.
