Drugs found in Thar that killed two men sleeping on pavement in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri
According to the officer, 0.30 gm of cocaine, 2.6 gm of LSD, 23.47 gm of MD, 21.26 of ganja, and 15.49 gm of charas were found inside the vehicle, along with Rs. 25,000 in cash and a mobile phone.

(File Photo/Abhinav Saha)A day after a 26-year-old man driving a Mahindra Thar SUV was arrested for allegedly mowing down two men while they were sleeping on a pavement in Delhiās Chanakyapuri, police on Monday said that the accused is a ādrug supplierā.
An officer said that contrabands were allegedly found inside a bag tucked between the seats of the vehicle during forensic checks, along with an empty liquor bottle.
According to the officer, 0.30 gm of cocaine, 2.6 gm of LSD, 23.47 gm of MD, 21.26 of ganja, and 15.49 gm of charas were found inside the vehicle, along with Rs. 25,000 in cash and a mobile phone.
Accused Ashish Bachchas was arrested on Sunday morning.
Police said that the two men, who sustained injuries, were rushed to RML Hospital, where one of them, Sujesh (35), was declared dead. The other injured person remained under treatment till late on Sunday, but eventually succumbed to his injuries, an officer said, adding that they were yet to identify him.
āAshish was travelling from Gurgaon. He had crossed Dhaula Kuan and was moving towards his residence in East Delhiās Shakarpur. Prima facie, it appears that Ashish had dozed off and that led to the accident,ā an officer said, adding that the car belonged to Ashishās friend Ankit.
Police are yet to ascertain if the accused was intoxicated at the time of the incident. During questioning, the accused allegedly said that the drugs belonged to someone else and he had no idea about the source. āThe accused does not have a criminal history. He has not cooperated much in the investigation so far,ā said the officer.
The offending vehicle, which bore an Uttar Pradesh number plate, has been seized, police said. The impact of the accident had resulted in the Thar’s left front tyre getting nearly completely detached, police had said.
According to the accusedās father, Ashish had left his job as a driver around six months ago and was contemplating registering as a Rapido driver.
