Several areas in Delhi may soon get respite from water scarcity as Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is all set to commission a new water treatment plants. Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing projects of the DJB and said there would be no dearth of funds for drinking water projects. Officials said the commissioning of 20 MGD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Okhla and 40 MGD WTP at Dwarka will fully solve the problem of water shortage in these areas. They said the 16 MGD Haiderpur plant has already been commissioned,whereas the 11 MGD Wazirabad plant would be commissioned by June 30. Besides these,several other plants are slated to be commissioned this year.
