After a two-day dry spell,Delhi received rain on Wednesday. Soft drizzles in the afternoon turned into a heavy downpour towards the evening. According to the Met department,more rain will follow in the next two days and though temperatures will be normal for this time of the year,high humidity levels will continue.
The showers,measured 3.2 mm between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm,gave respite to Delhiites from sultry weather conditions,led to waterlogging and minor traffic snarls. The rain,which started around 10.30 am,led to water accumulation at ITO,Mahipalpur,Janakpuri,Laxmi Nagar,Pitampura and Rohini.
Traffic was affected in many areas in West,East and South Delhi. The maximum temperature was recorded at 32.7 degree Celsius and minimum at 25.8 degrees,both normal for this time of the year. The humidity was,however,at a high. The maximum was at 95 per cent while the minimum was at 71 per cent.
For Thursday,the weatherman expects a a cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers in the city.
Monsoon has been vigorous in East Rajasthan and active in West Rajasthan. Tuesdays western disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir now lies over Jammu and Kashmir and its neighbourhood. This will lead to rains tomorrow all over Northwest India, said the weatherman.
