Delhi: Signature Bridge to remain shut for 10 days from today

The police also advised commuters travelling to trans Yamuna to use alternate routes viz Yamuna Bridge, Kashmere Gate, Iron Bridge (Loha Pul), Geeta Colony flyover, Vikas Marg, NH-24 to reach their destination.

The Signature Bridge that connects Wazirabad to East Delhi will remain shut for 10 days from tomorrow for removal of temporary platforms and tower crane, the traffic department announced on Sunday.

Issuing an advisory in this regard, the Delhi Traffic Police department said the bridge will not be available to commuters for use from November 4 midnight to November 14 midnight.

“As requested by Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation Limited, Signature Bridge will be completely closed from 04th/05th November midnight to 14th/15 November midnight till 12 am for the removal of temporary platforms and tower crane,” it read.

“Due to this old Wazirabad Bridge, Khajuri Chowk and Majnu ka Tila will be highly congested,” it added.

The police also advised commuters travelling to trans Yamuna to use alternate routes viz Yamuna Bridge, Kashmere Gate, Iron Bridge (Loha Pul), Geeta Colony flyover, Vikas Marg, NH-24 to reach their destination.

“It is also strongly advised to avoid old Wazirabad Pul, Majnu Ka Tila and Khajuri Chowk route for the above period,” the release read.
