(Express Photo)Delhi News Live Updates, May 6, 2025: The Delhi Lieutenant-Governor is set to hold a key meeting at 4 pm on Tuesday to discuss mock drills as the national Capital prepares for contingency in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists, last month. A day earlier, the Centre directed northern and western states and Union Territories to test and strengthen civil defence mechanisms in the event of a hostile attack. The mock drill, scheduled to be conducted on May 7, will entail operationalising air raid warning sirens, implementing crash blackout measures in selected areas and train civilians, including students, on safety protocols to follow during an aerial or ground assault.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Excise department has directed all hotels, clubs, and restaurants (HCR) licensees who have not submitted Police Clearance Certificates (PCCs) to submit them within five days. Officials said necessary action will be taken against those who do not submit their data as per the Delhi Excise Act and Rules. There are around 900 hotels, clubs, and restaurants in different parts of the city that serve liquor to their customers.
