The Delhi Government will organise a Bhojpuri conference for the first time in the national capital to bring international recognition to Delhi’s cultural diversity and strengthen ties with the global Indian diaspora.

Delhi Art, Culture and Language Minister Kapil Mishra held a meeting with secretaries and senior officials of the Sahitya Kala Parishad, Hindi Academy, Urdu Academy, Sindhi Academy, Sanskrit Academy, Maithili-Bhojpuri Academy, Garhwali-Kumaoni-Jaunsari Academy, Dr G G L S Prachya Vidhya Prathisthanam, and other institutions.

Senior AAP leader Atishi alleged that the raid was conducted to divert attention from PM Narendra Modi’s university degree during a press conference.

AAP leader Anurag Dhanda says, "Why was Saurabh Bhardwaj's house raided? Since yesterday, there have been discussions about how PM Modi's degree is fake, and this is just a distraction from that. The period for which these accusations have been made against Saurabh Bhardwaj was a time when he was not even a minister, which proves the entire case is false."

In a statement, ED said it is conducting search operations under Section 17 of the PMLA at 13 different locations across the Delhi-NCR region in connection with Delhi hospital construction scam case.

"The operations are based on material collected during the course of investigation and allegations in the FIR regarding large-scale corruption, unjustified cost escalations, unauthorised constructions, and misappropriation of funds in health infrastructure projects of GNCTD," ED added in its statement.

The accused have been identified as Gaurav and Aditya, the police said, adding that the two men were apprehended near the Shahbad Dairy area in Delhi during a planned operation following a tip-off about their movement.

"The accused are suspected to have direct involvement in the firing incident at Yadav's house, which happened on August 17," a senior police officer said. - PTI

Lawyers are protesting for the third day outside Rouse Avenue Court against a notification by the Delhi LG dated August 13 which allows deposition from Police stations.

Bar associations of all trial courts have categorically stated that no hearings will take place and strict action will be taken against lawyers who are seen advancing arguments in court.

The protesting lawyers are likely to meet the chief minister today to discuss the issue.

A one-and-a-half year old girl was allegedly sexually assualted by her neighbour in South-West Delhi on Sunday. The accused, a resident of Baghpat, UP was arrested.

The survivor's mother told police that around 9am yesterday, her neighbour took her daughter to his room. "A Pocso case has been registered," said a police official.

The increase in the metro fares ranges between ₹1, and ₹4, depending on the distance of travel. Delhi Metro fares on the Airport Express Line have gone up by up to ₹5.
