Delhi News Live Updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘red’ alert for heavy rainfall in South, South-West, West, and parts of North-West Delhi. Additionally, an ‘orange’ alert has been sounded for the rest of the city, indicating the possibility of significant rain and waterlogging in several areas.

ED raid at Saurabh Bhardwaj’s house: AAP leader Atishi alleged that the raid was conducted at Saurabh Bharadwaj’s place because questions are being raised across the country about Modi’s degree. ED raided the home of Aam Aadmi Party Delhi unit president and former Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj in connection with the delayed hospital construction case. A case was registered against former health minister Satyendar Jain too.

Greater Noida dowry death: Vipin Bhati, accused of setting his wife Nikki on fire along with his family members last week at their Greater Noida home for dowry, was planning to go on a vacation without his wife, her family told police on Monday. Nikki’s family members alleged that he was involved with another woman and his decision to go on a holiday leaving Nikki behind led to an argument on August 21, the day she died.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh advisory for Delhi, warning residents about the likely impacts of heavy rainfall. Citizens have been urged to remain cautious and follow safety measures.

Key precautions include avoiding waterlogged areas, staying away from weak structures, and not taking shelter under trees or near water bodies.

People living close to rivers and drains are advised to be ready to move to safer locations if required.

For farmers, IMD has suggested avoiding the use of fertilisers and pesticides, not leaving harvested crops in the open, and ensuring proper drainage of excess water from fields.

Commuters are advised to drive carefully and stay updated on possible delays in road, rail, and air transport. The IMD has also stressed the need for timely maintenance of drainage systems to prevent waterlogging.

Delhi News Live Updates: Air India, IndiGo and other airlines warn of flight delays as IMD issues rain alert for Delhi-NCR

Airlines such as SpiceJet and Air India on Tuesday warned their passengers of potential snags and delays in flight operations, as well as heavy traffic, due to persisting rainfall in Delhi NCR.

Taking to X, airlines urged passengers to check their flight operations in advance in their respective travel advisories.

Air India posted on X, “Persistent rain may affect flight operations to and from Delhi today. Please check your flight status at https://airindia.com/in/en/manage/flight-status.html before leaving, and allow extra travel time to the airport.”

Similarly, Spice Jet posted, “Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may be affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://spicejet.com/#status.”

IndiGo airlines, in the early hours of Tuesday, warned travellers of heavy traffic due to rains and urged them to check their flight schedule well in advance. Read

Delhi News Live Updates: PWD to assess drainage network near Delhi Airport T1 to tackle waterlogging

To address recurring waterlogging near Delhi Airport’s Terminal 1, the Public Works Department (PWD) will review the drainage network and key connecting roads. At a meeting chaired by PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, officials were directed to check discharge capacity, and carry out desilting and declogging if required. The study will cover stretches from Dhaula Kuan to Parade Road, Ullan Bataar Marg junction, and Thimmaya Marg. Earlier inspections revealed missing drain outlets along NH-48 near pillar 156, causing flooding at Parade Road underpass. To improve drainage, a 600 mm pipeline will be laid from NSG Chowk to Thimmaya Marg Junction. Meanwhile, the NHAI has allocated ₹3.5 crore to the Delhi Cantonment Board, which is conducting a study to develop drainage solutions in the area. (PTI)

Greater Noida Police arrested two more people today in connection with the death of 26-year-old Nikki Payla, who was allegedly burnt to death over dowry demands by her husband.

According to police, they arrested Rohit Bhati, 28, Nikki's brother-in-law, from Sirsa toll plaza, and Satya Veer, her 55-year-old father-in-law, from Sirsa Chauraha.
