Delhi: Man arrested for sexually assaulting dog in Shahdara

A 36-year-old man was arrested in Shahdara for allegedly sexually assaulting a stray dog, police said on Saturday.

The incident came to light when a member of People for Animals filed a police complaint on April 10 after a purported video of the incident was circulated on social media.

The accused, identified as Naushad, a native of Bihar, was arrested the same day. The police said Naushad allegedly admitted to committing the act when he was drunk on April 7.

A case was registered under Section 325 (mischief by killing or maiming an animal) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 11(a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
