Delhi man arrested for murder of doctor
The police identified the accused as Sunny Sharma (23), who was arrested Thursday. Sharma has claimed that the deceased, Dr Sambit Kumar Mohanty, tried to touch him inappropriately, leading him to slit his throat, the police said.

“Scared, Sunny ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and a scissor... and slit Sambit’s throat before fleeing the house... On checking the phone of the deceased, it was found that he had made his last call to Sunny. He was then tracked and arrested from Maidangarhi,” the officer added.A 52-year-old doctor was murdered allegedly by a dietician for trying to touch him inappropriately in Chattarpur Enclave, the police said. The incident allegedly took place when the doctor had invited the accused to his house to prepare a diet plan.

A call was received by the Maidangarhi Police Station around 12 pm about a body being found in a room at Chattarpur Enclave. “A cut was found on the neck of the deceased, and blood was found splattered on the floor,” said DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan, adding that Dr Mohanty hailed from Odisha.
During questioning, Sharma allegedly said that he got in touch with Dr Mohanty about two weeks ago. “Dr Mohanty was looking to get a diet plan for himself and called Sunny to his house… Yesterday, Sunny came to Sambit’s flat in Chattapur Enclave. Sunny has claimed that Sambit tried to physically touch him,” an officer said. “Scared, Sunny ran to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and a scissor… and slit Sambit’s throat before fleeing the house… On checking the phone of the deceased, it was found that he had made his last call to Sunny. He was then tracked and arrested from Maidangarhi,” the officer added.
