DDA told to remove seals from all Games flats

Fifty-three Commonwealth Games Village flats,which had been sealed by Delhi Development Authority,will now be desealed as per orders of MCD Appellate Tribunal,passed on November 22.

The DDA had sealed a total of 65 flats in the Village complex 12 had been desealed earlier. The fresh desealing will be carried out within three days of the receipt of the copy of this order.

DDA officials said they had received the order,and would take the required action soon. The land agency has been directed to deseal all the flats in towers 5,15 and unit number 601 of tower 7.

If respondent DDA still wants to seal any tower/flat…it is at liberty to seal those flats which come to its own share, the order states. DDA has been asked to submit a report to the court within two days after complying with the order.

The Appellant Tribunal has fixed the next hearing on February 3,2012,for arguments on the merits of the case related to construction of additional FAR by Emaar MGF. The allegations have been challenged by Emaar MGF on the grounds that the additional FAR constructed is within the compoundable limits of the permissible areas,as per Master Plan of Delhi 2021 and building bylaws of Delhi.

This matter is scheduled to come up for hearing in the High Court on November 29.
