A day after Opposition BJP MLAs were expelled from Assembly on last day of the winter session,Speaker Yoganand Shastri on Thursday said he has written to the ruling Congress party to ensure that such situations do not recur. What happened yesterday was very unfortunate, he said. We had to adjourn the House during a discussion on no-confidence motion (passed by BJP),and things got uglier when we had to order marshals to forcibly escort some MLAs out of Assembly.
The furore was caused by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshits remark, while replying to the no-confidence motion, that BJPs ideology led to the demolition of Babri Masjid. We have asked MLAs to refrain from referring to sensitive comments as it generally spoils the discipline of the House, the Speaker added.
